A national health care research firm confirms it: Providence is one of the best of the best.
SDI, a national health care research firm, announced that Providence Health & Services – Oregon Region has attained a “top five” ranking on its list of the 100 most highly integrated health care networks. Providence has been one of the national leaders for the past 11 years. SDI compiles the “Top 100” list from a survey of 576 health networks across the nation.
So what does this mean to patients and health plan members? The care they receive is more connected, leading to better outcomes and care that is coordinated well by health providers.
“This is a tremendous honor for Providence,” said Greg Van Pelt, executive vice president and chief executive for Providence in Oregon. “It recognizes our commitment to working better together. It also shows the great discipline of our teams as we work to provide a connected experience of care built on a foundation of clinical excellence.”
The rankings are based on a health system’s ability to operate as a unified organization in eight categories: integration, integrated technology, contractual capabilities, outpatient utilization, financial stability, services and access, hospital utilization, and physicians. High scores in these areas can be indicators of increased patient satisfaction and a more streamlined care experience.
The rankings for the survey – formerly known as the Verispan IHN 100 – were published in the Jan. 24 edition of Modern Healthcare, and complete survey results are available at www.sdihealth.com.
