HEDIS reviews begin in February

Providence Health Plan will be performing data collection for the 2013 Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set, or HEDIS, this February, March and April. Provider office medical records will be reviewed to collect data on the following measures: cholesterol screening; comprehensive diabetes care, including eye exams; controlling hypertension; colorectal cancer screening; adult body mass index, or BMI, assessment; weight assessment for children; prenatal/postpartum care; and childhood/adolescent immunizations.

If you are a primary care provider, endocrinologist, OB/GYN or eye care specialist for a member who is selected, someone from our Quality Medical Management department will contact you to schedule a review. Our goal is a smooth process, with little disruption to your office staff’s daily routine.
