HEDIS reviews to begin next month

From February through April Providence Health Plan will collect information for the 2014 Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set, or HEDIS. HEDIS is a tool used by more than 90 percent of U.S. health plans to measure performance on important dimensions of care and service.

We will review office medical records to gather data on:

  • Cholesterol screening
  • Comprehensive diabetes care, including eye exams
  • Hypertension control
  • Colorectal cancer screening
  • Adult BMI assessment
  • Weight assessment for children
  • Prenatal/postpartum care
  • Childhood or adolescent immunizations

If you're a primary care provider, endocrinologist, obstetrician/gynecologist or eye care specialist for a PHP member whose chart is selected for review, someone from our quality management department will contact you to schedule a review.

Our goal is to ensure a smooth process and create as little disruption as possible to your office's daily routine.

If you have questions, please contact your provider relations representative.
