Finding your healthy weight range
We've all heard it before: maintaining a healthy weight is important. But why does having a healthy weight matter - and how do we find out if what we weigh is considered in a healthy range? A simple way to know if your weight is healthy is to determine your body mass index, or BMI. BMI is the measure of your weight in relation to your height. Use this simple calculation to determine your BMI: BMI = Weight ÷ height in inches ÷ height in inches again × 703*. Or use a BMI calculator. Find your BMI below and see what range you fall into.

||18.5 to 24.9
||25 to 29.9
||30 to 39.9
||40 and greater
When your weight is in normal range, you decrease your risk for heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer.
