In partnership with your health care team, you can take control of diabetes and live your healthiest life. In addition to receiving the recommended health care services, remember the importance of the following lifestyle choices:
- Be physically active – move your body for at least 30 minutes a day
- Eat a healthy diet with lots of fresh veggies
- Keep a healthy weight
- Care for your mental health
- Track your blood pressure – it should be less than 140/90
- Do not smoke
- Manage stress
