According to a 2013 Healthcare Survey by AON Hewitt, “…wellness, prevention and health risk management are front and center in the minds of HR leaders. Every facet of the current health care mindset is focused on improving health outcomes and healthy-living behaviors.” Interestingly, over the next few years, nearly 50 percent of employers intend to shift their health care strategies from primarily improving risks and reducing costs to improving worker productivity and reducing absenteeism.
As you’ve no-doubt discovered, “wellness” covers a very broad swath – from policy, staffing and assessment, to campaigns, incentives and evaluation – it can be quite complex to sort out what’s relevant, available and most effective for a given organization.
