Our country faces a daunting challenge: Rein in unsustainable health care costs while extending access to care for millions of uninsured people.
With consumers taking greater responsibility for their own health care, and increased cost transparency from providers, many industry leaders believe we are ripe for a fundamental shift from our supply-driven system to one focused on value: in other words, the best outcomes at the lowest cost.
David Barnes from Providence Accountable Care Services will lay out a practical vision and key requirements for a new accountable care approach that changes the way we pay for health care and how it’s delivered. He’ll demonstrate how this approach improves quality and reduces expenses, and how it differs fundamentally from HMOs of the 1990s.
