You have until April 30 to sign up for health insurance
And now some really good news! Providence Health Plan is accepting applications for individual and family plans through April 30. So tell your friends and family members who have put off getting a health plan – there's still time!
Whether you're choosing or changing your health plan (you can if you're not happy with the one you've got), we're here to help. Applicants can enroll direct with Providence Health Plan or through Cover Oregon.
People who submit an application directly or through their insurance producer to Providence Health Plan from April 1 through April 30 and enroll for coverage may have to pay a partial federal tax penalty.
After April 30, the only way to get an individual or family health plan is by having a qualifying event. What's a qualifying event? In short, it's a major life change – such as a job loss, marriage, divorce or birth or adoption of a child – that affects your health coverage status. Not sure if you qualify? We can help.
The next open enrollment period for health coverage in 2015 begins Nov. 15, 2014.
