Portland Business Journal's 2013 'Healthiest Employers of Oregon

Providence Health & Services – Oregon Region has been named one of Portland Business Journal's 2013 'Healthiest Employers of Oregon.' Providence ranked in the top 10 of the “large employers” category – those with more than 1,500 employees.

The awards are given to companies that promote the value of workplace wellness and demonstrate innovation and leadership in their wellness programs. This is the second year Providence has received recognition as one of the state's healthiest employers.

The Business Journal recognized Providence's health incentive, which allows employees to earn money toward health expenses for completing a biometric screening and health assessment. The judges also acknowledged Providence's fitness centers, employee health challenges, bicycle-friendly facilities, fresh food choices and distribution of Tri-Met passes to employees in the Portland Service Area.

Providence Health Plan also has a variety of programs designed to keep members healthy, and 11 Providence Health Plan customers were also recognized as healthiest employers: Climax Portable Machine Tools, Glory Bee Foods, LifeBalance Program, Miller Nash, LLP, Portland General Electric, R & H Construction, SAIF Corporation, Sunstone Circuits, The Partners Group, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and Vernier Software & Technology.
